Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) filed a new amendment that would block the Department of Defense from using its funds to test people for marijuana when they are enlisting in the military or being commissioned as an officer of one of the armed services. A separate proposal from Reps. Robert Garcia (D-CA) and Daniel Goldman (D-NY) would prevent DOD from drug testing federal job applicants for cannabis.

A new poll shows that a majority of Ohio voters—including a plurality of Republicans—support the marijuana legalization initiative on the state’s November ballot.

North Carolina lawmakers received $530,000 in campaign contributions from political donors tied to the marijuana or gambling industries in the first half of this year, according to a new analysis.

A New York judge determined that regulators erred in preparing a list of marijuana dispensary licensees they said should be allowed to open amid ongoing litigation over the state’s award process.

The New Jersey administrative director of the courts issued revised guidelines restricting the ability of retired judges to represent cannabis businesses.
